Caribbean Land Crab-The Eye’s Have It

Monday, August 31st, 2009

After more than an hour of laying still on the beach watching this little guy go in and out of his hole, I finally won his trust and at a mer 3 feet away captured some interesting images. These land crabs live in the sand at waters edge and inland as well. This critter lives in front of our condo on Sunset Beach in St Croix.  I have been building a library of images for my commercial photography business in the USVI

Hibiscus Beach Resort Suite Photography

Sunday, August 16th, 2009

During my last stay in St Croix, I was contacted by the Hibiscus Beach Resort to make some new photographs of one of their suites, which was damaged last year by hurricane Omar. In addition to showing off the new rooms they also wanted to be able to see the views of the Caribbean which is visible from each. A combination of lighting and retouching made this USVI commercial photography

New Military Glamour/ Boudoir Photography

Saturday, August 15th, 2009

A new twist to an old type of portrait photography is now the rage. Military Glamour photography is being requested by wives and girlfriends of  US service men across the country. In Delaware and surrounding states and the USVI  the  National Guard and the Dover Air Force Base have been sending troops around the world . Professional photographers using studio lighting, unique posing  special Retouching software and  creative expertise are creating special photographic gifts for the women of these servicemen to send and present to their loved one’s  such as was done in the 1940’s with Pin up glamour posters. With today’s  technology, calendars, small paperback albums, DVD slideshows and web based slide shows can all be provided after a glamour photo shoot. Parties can even be arranged for a group of friends to get together and have the studio shoot made at your location.Of course these glamour shoots are not restricted to a military theme.  Any outfits or themes can be intergraded into a shoot and pajama parties are starting to take form as another way to be photographed in a sexy/tasteful way. Most of the photographs taken are no more risque than those you would find in the  JC Penny’s circular found in  your  Sunday Paper . It is the lighting and retouching  after effects that give the images their seductive look.  So don’t be shy, give our studio a call or email and ask as many questions as you would like. We will answer them all. Our studio is only 25 minutes from DAFB and the Dover areaCrossan_Eric_06rw copy

St Mary’s College of Maryland Yacht Race

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Since I am now a part time resident of the USVI I jumped on the opportunity to photograph one of the largest sailing yacht races in the US.  Over 150 sailing vessels competed in the Chesapeake Bay overnight race. Since St Thomas and St John’s and St Croix are all surrounded by prime sailing waters I thought having some new sailing photographs  from a world class race would be great, and it was. After a fierce storm rolled across the bay from Annapolis the clouds were spectacular and made for a great backdrop.  After boarding the 55 ft.”Black Tie Affair” power boat we were off for and exciting hour and a half of photography following the boats down the Chesapeake. The invitation to photograph the race came from the communications Dept. of St Mary’s College  of  Maryland , who runs the race each year.IMG_9626IMG_9649
