Matt-Elizabeth and Mini at Eric Crossan's outdoor studio

Matt-Elizabeth and Mini at Eric Crossan's outdoor studio

What a great  day for outdoor photography.  Spring has finally settled in here in southern New Castle County,DE and Crossan Studios  outdoor studio is in full bloom. Our subjects, Matt Kelly, and his finacee’ Elizabeth Ernst brought Mini along for an engagement portrait to use to use for their Sept.6th wedding at the Farmhouse near Wilmington ,DE. Of the 4 settlings we shot this was one of my favorites.  I try to use what nature provides to make and interesting, yet pleasing  image that you won’t find elsewhere. From our pond and dock, bamboo forrest and rock pile we can always come up with an interesting image that will last a lifetime.

Chase on the Riverfront

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

I can’t really remember how many years now  Crossan Studios has  been photographing the  Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s annual Superstars in Education Awards and Dinner, but it’s been quite a few.  It’s great to see our state’s educators get recognition for their creative projects and ways to keep their students interested.  From a photographic standpoint the 2 images i’ve attached were made with a 15mm fisheye lens which makes the images interesting and  a little different from the norm and is great for images made at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington,DE which sits along the Christina River and river walkuntitled-12.

Weddings at the beautiful Baywood Greens on Longneck

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

n_w2581untitled-11While northern New Castle County has it’s majestic estates and wonderful gardens that I have photographed hundreds of wedding in , southern Delaware has a diamond in the ruff as well.  Photographing a wedding at the Baywood Greens on Longneck not far from Lewes and Rehoboth Beach  this time of year is  almost like taking a trip to Longwood Gardens. Well maybe not quite but you get my point. The Tunnell Companies does a wonderful job of planting and maintaining 10’s of thousands of plants and shrubs  each year around the golf course and club house and the setting is great. It seems as if they designed the club with a photographer  in mind , and brides too.
