Wednesday, June 16th, 2010

After traveilng around the country for clients such as DuPont, ICI Americas,Rohm and Haas, and Successful Farming Magazine photographing our countries beautiful rural areas, farms and farmers I decided to turn my Ag photo library over to Ed Young who had started an Ag stock photo business, AG Stock USA. Now companies from around the world can see my work and purchase images for their advertising and editorial needs, along with work from other photographers around the country and world. Ed was kind enough to feature me last week with a short bio to go along with my work. I met so many interesting people while shooting these assignments and miss it for sure.

St Mary’s College of Maryland Yacht Race

Wednesday, August 12th, 2009

Since I am now a part time resident of the USVI I jumped on the opportunity to photograph one of the largest sailing yacht races in the US.  Over 150 sailing vessels competed in the Chesapeake Bay overnight race. Since St Thomas and St John’s and St Croix are all surrounded by prime sailing waters I thought having some new sailing photographs  from a world class race would be great, and it was. After a fierce storm rolled across the bay from Annapolis the clouds were spectacular and made for a great backdrop.  After boarding the 55 ft.”Black Tie Affair” power boat we were off for and exciting hour and a half of photography following the boats down the Chesapeake. The invitation to photograph the race came from the communications Dept. of St Mary’s College  of  Maryland , who runs the race each year.IMG_9626IMG_9649

Chase on the Riverfront

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

I can’t really remember how many years now  Crossan Studios has  been photographing the  Delaware State Chamber of Commerce’s annual Superstars in Education Awards and Dinner, but it’s been quite a few.  It’s great to see our state’s educators get recognition for their creative projects and ways to keep their students interested.  From a photographic standpoint the 2 images i’ve attached were made with a 15mm fisheye lens which makes the images interesting and  a little different from the norm and is great for images made at the Chase Center on the Riverfront in Wilmington,DE which sits along the Christina River and river walkuntitled-12.

Delaware GOP-Steve Forbes Award Dinner

Wednesday, April 8th, 2009

In Delaware there is one thing that is certain. The Hotel DuPont is THE place to hold a dinner/awards ceremony/party or any other event. The beauty of the Gold Ball Room takes your breath away.  So where else would former Delaware Governor and a duPont family member Pete duPont hold his Individual Freedom Awards Dinner.  This years recipient was former Pres. candidate and editor in chief  of Forbes magazineimg_73161, Steve Forbes. I was asked to photograph the event for the Delaware GOP. I started at a round table  Q & A session followed by photographs of sponsors with duPont and Forbes.  We then traveled down to the Christina Room in the Hotel where another group of donors awaiting a chance to mingle with Forbes. Finally we all headed into the Gold Ball room  for the dinner ,speeches and the award. I had set up a studio mono light on the opposite side of the ballroom to keep my light consistent and allow me to move around for the best views. I have found this the best way to light a event in a large area.

Friday, April 3rd, 2009

Architectural Photography, especially interior  spaces can be very challenging.  Creating pleasant lighting can take time and may need  numerous lighting applications. These images of guest rooms as well as other spaces at the Dover Sheraton are being used on the official Sheraton/Starwood  Resorts website. Eric Crossan Photography is proud to have worked with Axia Management for over 20 years providing advertising photography for their hotels.

GREG GRUNBERG-HERO’s STAR

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Greg Grunberg and a Canine Assistant on setAccepting commercial and corporate assignments has its pluses and minuses. Thankfully the pluses out weight the minuses. One minus is traveling with camera equipment and trying to pack every piece of equipment and gear  you might need for days of shooting on location away from home, then getting through security at the airports..  The pluses are meeting new and interesting people, seeing other cities and countries and getting paid to be there and of course just the fact that you are working in a crazy environment. A couple of weeks ago the drug company UCB  contacted me about shooting a trade show in Seatttle put on by the American Epilepsy Society in which they participate. Enter Greg Grunberg..  Gerg , one of the TV series Hero’s stars has been a active advocate for the AES as his son Jake has Epilepsy and he has done an excellent job at promoting its awareness and is working hard to gets the message out on Epilepsy.  Greg is full of energy and real fun to be around and as you can see by this image is a rea down to earth guy…

Pres. Hopeful John McCain

Tuesday, October 7th, 2008

One of the more interesting and sometimes exciting parts of being a photographer is the people you meet and sometimes keep company with and the places you sometimes get to go. Case in point…getting a chance to get up close and personal with people in high places (or people who would like to be in high(the highest) places. Here I photographed Pres. hopeful John McCain at a fundraiser in Southern Delaware.. This is not to say I support him or will vote for him…But the time will soon tell if he has what the American people  want..
